Broward International University, Inc., a postsecondary educational institution licensed in the State of Florida, informs its academic community, students, alumni, and the general public that the commercial name: BIU Miami
Has been officially registered with the Florida Department of State – Division of Corporations on February 3, 2026. This registration authorizes the use of the commercial name at the state level.
Likewise, the academic and institutional use of the name BIU Miami is currently undergoing evaluation and approval by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE) of the State of Florida.
Important Information
- The commercial name BIU Miami is duly registered with the State of Florida.
- Authorization for its academic use is subject to approval by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE).
- Until such approval is obtained, the legal and official name of the institution remains Broward International University, Inc.
This process does not imply any modification to:
- The legal status of the institution
- Institutional control
- Authorized academic programs
- Program duration
- Costs, contractual terms, or credentials granted.
- The academic and contractual rights of enrolled students and graduates.
The institution will continue to fully comply with Chapter 1005, Florida Statutes, as well as all applicable rules and regulations of the Commission for Independent Education, including the requirements established under Fair Consumer Practices.
